Two-Headed Dreamweaver
In quiet realms where dreams unfold, Two-headed dragon, ancient and bold, soaring through the cosmos embrace, Each head a mirror, each glance a trace. Once a spirit lost in cosmic haze, now it breathes through time’s eternal maze. One whisper sings of love untamed, the other speaks of freedom and journeys unnamed. Beneath the stars where shadows dance, they wander freely in a timeless trance. Each heart aflame with compassion's spark, Guiding souls through the depths of dark. Eons converge in their formidable flight, Transforming night into brilliant light. As they glide over valleys vast and deep, In their embrace, warm and meek. For every soul that dares to dream, Infinity calls from the astral stream. Love transcends in the universe wide, on wings of freedom, together they glide. So, heed this tale of dragon divine— In essence entwined as stars align. Through spirals they find the gate, a bond unbroken by fear or fate. Together they dance on horizons unseen, in patterns of life where all is but a dream.
Another symbolic collaboration piece created with Samir Bensalah. We spent many hours drawing each line directly onto the linoleum block to create this beautiful design. The style and technique that distinguishes Samir's incredible work flows naturally through this design as our lines intertwine, resulting in a balanced design that conveys unity and wholeness. After we finished the sketch, I spent several weeks carving the design from the block before inking and printing the first edition of 40 prints in this stunning burgundy red ink. When light reflects on this print, the richness of its colors is revealed. This design was printed on 10 x 10 off white recycled cotton rag paper and would look great in a 12 x 12 frame.
Every single print is hand-printed and not a reproduction.
There are many different printmaking techniques.
Traditional printmaking techniques include relief printing, lithography, intaglio printing, and screen printing. At the moment, I prefer linocut printmaking which is a type of relief printing. All of my prints are created using this process.
First, a drawing is created onto a block of linoleum. Areas to remain the color of the surface being printed on are carved from the block first. Then the ink is rolled onto the uncut surface of the block. I then lay the paper on top of the block, first attaching the tabs that hold the paper in place so that each time I lay down the paper the image is transferred with complete registration. When the paper is removed the image then appears in reverse.
