Miracle Sun
A small edition of 25 prints. ☀️
Many have watched me carve this block during markets over the last few weeks and I hope that those who wished to have one will find one they like among these colors.
There are three paper colors to pick from.
Pink, orange, and light blue. These are printed on handmade cotton rag paper, the measurements are 6x6 inches.
In the photo with all the prints, there is another blue paper with an orange sun, but I am not making those available on the website. There are about 6 of each color in this edition. I also have a few on white cotton paper with the orange sun that I did not make apart of this edition, if you are interested please reach out. :)
Prints will be mailed flat protected by cardboard and stamped as fragile.
Every single print is hand-printed and not a reproduction.
There are many different printmaking techniques.
Traditional printmaking techniques include relief printing, lithography, intaglio printing, and screen printing. At the moment, I prefer linocut printmaking which is a type of relief printing. All of my prints are created using this process.
First, a drawing is created onto a block of linoleum. Areas to remain the color of the surface being printed on are carved from the block first. Then the ink is rolled onto the uncut surface of the block. I then lay the paper on top of the block, first attaching the tabs that hold the paper in place so that each time I lay down the paper the image is transferred with complete registration. When the paper is removed the image then appears in reverse.
